a walk in the snow with snowshoes

So It was a bright mild day here in Woodislands and we decided it would be a great time to try the snowshoes. I was concerned that I'd not be able to because of my hip. Well not to worry, it was great!
I had to take a lot of little rests but that made time for pictures.



He's Alan getting ready, he'd already snapped me into my shoes.

more pretty trees, we are so lucky to have such a beautiful spot to enjoy.

ha ha isn't he funny, I took a video of him swinging. He wanted me to get on the swing, but if I had gotten down there I'd not be able to get back up, wonky hip and all.

as we were walking we found this little heart in the snow. the wind was blowing the snow off the trees and it made lots of patterns but I thought this was just right for us.

Oh my what a lovely day we had.

snow storm Feb 18,2012

our little cottage in the snow.
the snow fell straight down, no wind to push it around so the trees were frosted.
It was a very mild day.

I even got out and shovelled a little, the deck, steps and the path to the lane way.

Spring is really on its way!!

Today, as I sat checking my facebook for the latest news

I looked out my window and saw a fat fluffy Robin red breast.
This must mean Spring is coming soon or this poor little fellow will starve to death.

Isn't it just beautiful.

Oh my gosh the sun is shining.

What a wonderful day, I'm going for a walk even if it does leave me in pain for the rest of the day.

Fat snow flakes drifing down...oh my I do love this little cottage and Panting shore .

Simple pleasures are all that I ask for and here in this life I am surrounded by them.

feb 2, 2012 groundhog day

So hello there. Today is groundhog day and he didn't see his shadow so we have only 6 more weeks of Winter. Ha!!!

Tuesday was my birthday, 59 years old. Oh my that is old, but I still feel young so that's all that counts. When I get my new hip in Aug there will be no stopping me. Yeah!

This is a puzzle I got from my sweetie so we can have a puzzle table here in our little cottage. So nice. We went out for supper as well and Sat we are going on a date, dinner and a movie. Albert Nobbs starring Glenn Close.




Les baked this lovely apple spice cake for me.

Yum! Thankyou so much my sweet boy. I love my boys so much, they both called me and wished me a happy day and you know thats all the gift I need.

My great friend Donna brought me a lovely gift of chocolates-my fave Lindor- a chocolate luv bug and some glorious hand cream.

I got loads of wishes from friends and family on face book too. I am so thankful for all the love.

I went for a walk to see if I could see my shadow and didn't so I guess the groundhog is right.

hello all, it was a little chilly out there today. Only ice right at the shoreline. No seals in sight.

Heading back home, I can hear Nicki the neighbours dog barking at my door for a treat. She's so funny and sweet.

now we have a wedding to plan, we will have a barbecue July 29th and a wedding will break out.

Our engagement is blessed by the heartshaped potato. It was in the bag of spuds Alan was preparing for Christmas dinner along with prime rib, yorkshire pudding, brussel sprouts & carrots.

Isn't that Grand.

It was a wonderful first Christmas at the cottage. We love this place even more each day and this summer will be so grand with all the visitors and not so much work.

Inside this winter we will be doing the finishing work around the new windows and doors.

Its almost Christmas

Christmas is slowly coming to Sanddollor Cottage.

the first tree put up was the little Hummel tree.

I collected Hummel ornaments for a few years and now can do a whole little tree. I just love them.

This is our little livingroom tree. We cut it down and had to take some off the top as well. I think its quite funny looking but its decorated and the Angel was finally found and set in her propper place.

on the tv stand that doesn't have a tv I put the little tv music box. It is very special

we have our candles on the sideboard 'Theodor'

and I did a bowl of clove spiked oranges today.

Later this is where the nativity will be, but not today we have to find a place for all the candles.

so thats it so far for the Christmas decor here at the cottage. I'll keep you posted. still no snow, it looks like a green and wet Christmas here in pei.

a walk on the beach nov 11,2011

Well we decided to go for a walk to see how high the waves were, they were very high as you'll see in the following pictures. It was quite mild 12c and very very windy. It was nice to get back to our little cottage after this walk. I am sad to think of the fighting men who didn't have one to get out of the rain all the years ago.
