a view from below

this is under the cottage Alan has got the pink insulation in and you can now see why his overalls are so muddy. rolling around in the dirt under there. Since this picture was taken he has crawled under and put typar up to cover the insulation and keep warm in. He has the cottage jacked up so it is level and stable.

He had a little problem when he was rolling around under there, some of the glue he was using got on his hands and some how in his hair. the glue is wearing off his hands...
but he cut the glue out of his hair. Oh my goodness he is such a silly goose, but the glue is gone and the hair will grow back.

more shots of underneath

1 it acutally looks better dow there than I thought it would. We are insulated now by golly!

septic tank is full

Hello again from Sand dollar cottage..a few weeks ago we had a little problem, things weren't running as well as they should. We decided we would call E A Mackay to fix the problem.
they came and searched all afternoon for the septic tank but couldn't find it. Alan came home and went under the cottage and showed them where the pipe came out, so they started to poke with the pokey rod couldn't find it. Then they decided to just dig along the pipe.

Alan is watching to see how they do.

As they dug along they followed the pipe. Alan noticed a wire but figured it was just some old thing left over from days gone by.

They dug along and they went quite deep too

they finally found it, the reason they couldn't find it with the pokey rod was that it is plastic and not concrete or metal, so they didn't hear it hit anything. Mystery solved.

there it is and isn't that just the cutest little digger they used. Harold would love to play with that thing I'm sure.

There it is our lovely little septic tank. Oh My!

all that work they had to leave but came back the next day to

pump it out. Thank goodness we didn't have to see that.

It seemed to be quite full......YUK!!!!!

They wire that they broke while digging was our telephone line.

this piece was partly broken but there was another piece that was completely broken.

So Alan borrowed some wire from our neighbour Lindsey and put it all back together and had the phone and internet working in a little while.

Job well done Alan and E A Mackay and co

in this picture Lindsey looks like my dad...pretty neat because he doesn't look at all like him.
