a walk on the beach July 24, 2011

Today we went for a nice walk on the beach and in the water. I took some pictures and we looked for sand dollars, only found 2 today. It was a splendid morning.

This is a heart shaped rock I thought was pretty

This is an interesting formation in the rock wall

This rock has and interesting pattern on it, I tried to scrape it off but its in the rock.

This is cool it is worn away, I think but its is up high on the rock wall

its about shoulder high in the rock wall

this would be a nice painting

and this too

another heart shaped rock

and another I think I'll put them all together in a calender or something
And that is all for this walk, it was a lovely walk.

So now home to prepare for Alan's Birthday Barbecue this afternoon

after supper we went to the beach

walking to the beach

Abigail and Mary at the beach, Abigail loved the sand

Wynne was not to sure of the water

This is the sight that met me when I came home from work today. That Alan what a sweetie, he even picked wild roses from the yard and put them on the tables.

Isn't it just so pretty. We really are pinching ourselves that we have such a wonderful place to call home now. Love love love the cottage.

Our new sink just one more time. He even put the cabinet doors on. Wow isn't it great.

Now we just have to find and put up the shelves for the dishes, cups & glasses.

July 12th 2011

So here I am back online. My computer was infected and had to go to get fixed, but now I'm back. Things are getting done here at Sanddollar Cottage and its feeling a lot like home now.

A spotted salamander Alan found under some wood in the back yard isn't he cute he was about 6 inches long and terrified.

We found these lovely blooms(Laural we think) on our walk to the beach such beautiful shaped buds.

Alan is levelling the cabinets It took a while because the floor is so out of whack...but he did it.

looking good

I think he did a great job

and now the counter top is in. Isn't it lovely?

really lovely

Isn't that nice. Tomorrow we get our sink, then things can start to be put in place and more boxes can be unpacked. That will mean that we will be able to find things without wandering around aimlessly until we come upon what we are searching for. Nice Kitchen aye?
Well I guess that is about enough for today..

bye from Sanddollar Cottage

July 3rd 2011

Yesterday our wonderful visitors left, we had such a great time with Kel, James and Maggs. We miss them a lot. They didn't mind not having a kitchen sink, Kel said it made it more like a cottage. We did the dishes on the kitchen table in the dishpan, at least we had hot water from the bathroom. We had great walks on the beach and collecting shells and rocks etc.
We also had lots of great meals, we only got to have one bonfire and had giant marshmallows.
It was sad seeing them off at the airport but all went well and off they went.
We went back to the cottage and walked on the beach searching for sanddollars.
Today we got up late and unpacked boxes and did laundry-our washer broke but thanks to the park we got it done. Thanks Alan. So the place looks a little less cluttered but still waiting for the counter top and the sink and tap, maybe this week.
Well its back to work for us tomorrow so off to bed in our cosy little sanddollar cottage.
